Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment

Patterson, James. Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. NY: Suejack Incorporated, 2005. 422 pages. (Sci-Fi / Action / Adventure Series)

In this book, there are 6 main characters: Maximum, who is 14 years old; Fang is also 14; Iggy is 14, and is blind; Nudge is 10; The Gasman is 8; and Angel is 6, and is psychic. They call themselves “the Flock,” or family, even though only The Gasman and Angel are related. The flock is actually made up of bird- kids; mostly human, except they have large wings and can fly. This story mostly takes place at “The School,” which is an evil place where they were created by mad scientists. The Flock also has enemies- called Erasers, who are humans that can morph into bloodthirsty werewolves. The Erasers are after the flock because they escaped from The School. The Erasers and the Flock were in a big maul; Angel gets kidnapped by them, and is taken back to The School. The rest of the Flock sneaks back to rescue Angel.

I like the book; I think that it has a lot of suspense. The book was actually very long, but it seems like it is a quick read because it keeps you reading it. I also think that Fang acts a lot like a friend of mine, quiet, but very strong.
