Specials

Westerfeld, Scott. Specials. New York City: Scholastics Inc., 2006. 372 pages. (Sci-Fi Series)

Tally has taken on yet another form of human beings, but this time against her will. She is now a special… her senses amplified and given great speed and strength. But everything about her has changed. She once almost became a Smokie and now her goal is to find the New Smokies and turn them over to the city to be turned into bubbleheads. She also has to deal with her old true love from back when she was a pretty, who now disgusts her. When trying to make things right, can Tally yet again make a wrong turn and end up killing others, some who matter more than others?

This is a thrilling book that captures your attention and whisks you away into the future. It is action packed and you’ll find it hard to tear your eyes away from the pages. It is utterly disappointing when the pages start to run out.

Twilight

Myer, Stephanie. Twilight. New York N.Y. Little, Brown and Company 2005. 498 pages. (Vampire Romance Series / Poem Review)

Twilight is intense.
With Edward, Bella, Charlie, Emmet, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice, Carsile, and Esme.
Is it intense and passionate enough to make you cry?
Love between Edward and Bella will make you say wow.
It is a book to read in your spare time.
Good book
Have to read it
The most thought put into writing the book

I would recommend this book this book to any teenager looking for a book with love, intensity, compassion, and a little bit of drama in it. I would share this book with my parents because I think that they might enjoy reading what a lot of other teenagers are reading. Yes I would read another book by this author because Stephanie Myer is a fantastic book writer and she makes her stories interesting. I think the greatest scene from this story was when Edward and Bella met and another scene was when Edward jumped in front of a speeding car to save Bella’s life. One word label to describe Twilight would be Intense. I would describe this novel as intense, compassionate, and full of drama.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod

Brewer, Heather. The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. New York: Scholastic Inc. 2007. 180 pages. (Vampire Series / Poem Review)

Vlad Tod: Vampire,

Drinks blood and hovers in air.
Lots of Vampires
After him because of Tom.
Tom is Vlad’s father.
Vlad’s father is vampire.
His mother, human.
Vlad is human/vampire.

Otis, Vlad’s teacher,
Is mysterious and odd.
Does he know secret?
Only Henry knows secret.

Henry best friends,
With Vlad. Because of being,
Bitten, Henry = drudge.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod starts with Eighth Grade Bites then, next in the series is Ninth Grade Slays. This book is amazing. An eighth grader just starts to unscramble his questions about his father’s disappearance. I give this book a eight out of ten because some parts of the book are kind of cheesy.

The Second Summer of the Sisterhood

Brashares, Ann. The Second Summer of the Sisterhood. New York: Delacrote, 2006. (Fiction Series)

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Two is about four girls that spilt up for the first time over the past two summers! First there’s Bridget who set off to Alabama. She goes there to find her mothers mother. She wants to know what her mother was like because she barely even met her. She wants to both confront and avoid her demons!! Then there is Carmen she is very concerned about her mother. The reason why is because she doesn’t want her to make a complete fool out of herself over a guy. Later she then finds out her mother borrows the pant without asking Carmen first. How bad is that? There is also Tibby! She wants to make a movie that she could be proud of. She wanted to make it with her friend Bailey but… Bailey died a summer ago but Tibby can still see the memory of her. Last but not least there is Lena! She has spent several months hiding from love. A summer ago she met a guy named Kostos. He had saved her last summer when she almost drowned. Now he is gonna get married to someone that’s not Lena! But when she puts on the pants she hopes they will lead her where they will.

I really liked this book because it went from to person. I love books that do that! If you are interested in things like that then you will love this book! If you like girls, pants, and guys this is the book for you! I think you like this book as much as I did! Have fun reading!
