Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life

Mass, Wendy. Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life. NY: Little, Brown and
Company, 2006. 289 pages. (Fiction / Adventure)

Jeremy, a 12-year-old boy, lives in New York City with only his mother as his father died when Jeremy was eight years old. Jeremy receives a package in the mail three weeks before his 13th birthday. The package contains a present that his father arranged for Jeremy to have, prior to his father’s death. Inside the package is a box that requires four keys for it to be opened. The only problem is that there are no keys with the box. Jeremy and his best friend, Lizzy, spend three weeks of their summer searching New York City to find the keys. While looking for the keys, they get arrested, have to do community service, and meet a pawnbroker. It’s very important for Jeremy to open the box because on top it is engraved “THE MEANING OF LIFE: FOR JEREMY FINK TO OPEN ON HIS 13TH BIRTHDAY.

I would, and did, recommend this book to my Mom. I liked it a lot and I thought she would also. My Mom likes to read and likes adventure stories. This book was very adventurous. My Mom did read the book and she enjoyed it very much.
