Angels in Pink: Kathleen’s Story.

McDaniel, Lurlene. Angels in Pink: Kathleen’s Story. NY: Delacorte Press, 2005. 227 pages. (Fiction Series / Romance)

The main characters are Kathleen, Holly, Raina, and Kathleen’s mom. Kathleen, Holly, and Raina are all best friends. They are also in a program at a local hospital called pink angels, (which Raina signed them up for). This story takes place mainly at the hospital.

The problem that Kathleen faces is that she has a new friend named Carson that she likes and he likes her. But there’s a problem, Carson’s old friend Stephanie Marlow (not BarlowJ) keeps showing up at the wrong times, like on Kathleen’s and Carson’s date, and at a party at the hospital. Kathleen tries to solve the problem by talking to Carson. But that only makes things worse because Carson thinks that Kathleen is overreacting. So he tries to avoid the subject. But Kathleen is still not pleased. She wants this problem solved. But she doesn’t want to lose Carson either, so she too decides to avoid the subject. But that backfires when Stephanie shows up at the end of the summer banquet that the hospital is throwing for all the volunteers. She was very rude to her saying things like “Carson always finds a little plaything for the summer, but he always comes back to me.” What Stephanie didn’t know was that Carson was done with Stephanie and only wanted Kathleen. Some other interesting things that happened in the novel were that Holly’s older brother, Hunter, is dating Raina. And they plan on getting married and having a happy future together. Also, Holly feels that her parents are too strict on her. They are always yelling at her and telling her that she needs to grow up.

I liked Holly the best because she is the funniest one in the book becausse she is the least tense. I despised Stephanie Marlow, because she was the meanest to Kathleen, and she tried to get Carson to cheat on Kathleen. I would recommend this book to read because it is an awesome book about friendship.
