Eagle Strike

Horowitz, Anthony. Eagle Strike. London: Walker Books, 2003. 240 pages. (Action / Adventure Series)

Alex Rider is once again on a mission– but MI6 hasn’t given it to him! He’s on vacation in France with his friend Sabina and her family when he sees a white yacht and the unmistakable face of Yassen Gregorovich– a contract killer who killed Alex’s Uncle, Ian Rider (also an MI6 operative). Alex and Sabina are going to her house when they find that it has been blown up, with her father (a writer for an article a popular magazine) inside of the house. An ambulance has already taken Sabina’s father to a hospital. Alex finds a burned piece of paper that Sabina’s father was writing and it mentions a popular pop singer named Damian Cray who he ends up investigating which leads to his next adventure. I think my favorite character is Yassen Gregorovich because he shows no emotion when he is doing his job and he never messes up. He is just a ruthless killer, what can I say? This book is very action packed, exciting, and your heart is bound to skip a beat!
