Jack’s Run

Smith, Roland. Jack’s Run. New York: Scholastic, 2005. 246 pages. (Mystery)

When Jack Osborne’s father’s ex-mob boss got arrested, Neil agreed to tell the authorities everything he knew. Neil’s ex-boss Alonzo Aznar learned of this from his jail cell, Alonzo sent his men after the Osborne family. The Osborne’s were hiding until Joanne, Neil’s daughter, went onto American Superstar on television. One of Aznar’s people saw this and kidnapped Jack and Joanne. They were brought to the Aznar vineyard in South America and held captive while Aznar tried to get Neil Osborne’s diary which guaranteed to put Alonzo in prison forever. Neil, a former navy seal, got Smitty, Jack’s former school janitor, and Dr. Pavlov together to rescue the kids. Jack and Joanne also tried to escape. Read and find out if they escape, get rescued, or are murdered.

I would give this book a ten out of ten. I always wanted to keep reading and never put the book down. You never know what would happen next. It had a ton of action. You find yourself trying to tell the characters what to do, and then you realize that it is only a book. This is my favorite book I have ever read!
