The tournament includes three difficult tasks, one held during each school term. The three tasks each getting harder after every challenge the contestants encounter. The contestants are Cedrick Digory, Victor Krum, Fleur Delacour, and Harry of course.

The first task is to snatch the golden egg from the dragon. Each contestant gets a dragon and all of the contestants get their egg. But what they later find out is the egg they worked so hard for is a clue to their next challenge which is they had to swim down a lake and save their friends but also face evil mermaids. The third challenge was indeed the hardest challenge of all……a dark, living, live threaten maze. All four contestants would be in it at the same time.
