Breaking Dawn

Meyer, Stephenie. Breaking Dawn NY: Little Brown, 2008. 754 pages. (Fantasy Series / Vampire)

Things have certainly taken a rather odd twist for Isabella (Bella) Swan since she moved to Forks to live with her father, Charlie. Ever since she fell in love with and married Edward Cullen, her life hasn’t been the same. Edward and his family-Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, Carlisle, and Esme- are vampires, but they don’t drink human blood, only drink animal blood, for they want to behave like humans and live normally. And, if being in love with a vampire isn’t enough, her best friend, Jacob Black, is a werewolf. And vampires and werewolves are mortal enemies. Since the Cullens would like to live normally, Jacob and his pack made a treaty with the Cullens agreeing to live in peace with one another. Bella and Edward have been through a lot together, and it’s only going to get worse because Bella realizes she is pregnant. But, it is not a normal baby she carries, for it does not grow at a normal rate. This baby grows twice as fast. When the baby is being born, it is too strong for Bella to handle. She dies after giving birth. Edward is too stubborn to just let the love of his life die, so he bites her: she becomes a vampire, and is immortal. It works. But soon, Edward and Bella realize their daughter, Renesme, is half-human and half-vampire. This is no good for the Cullens and, now also a vampire, Bella. Now, the Volturi, the gods of the vampire world, are now coming to destroy the child. Will little Renesme survive? Or will the Cullens say goodbye to the world forever?

I am absolutely in love with this series! Breaking Dawn was definitely the best of them all! I like the fact that it is told from two different points of view. In the book, there are three parts to it. Part one is told from Bella’s point of view, part two from Jacob Black’s point, and part three shifts back to Bella again. If you like romance and fantasy books, you have GOT to read this one!
