Fight for Life

Anderson, Laurie. Fight for Life. New York: Puffin Books, 2007. 135. (Mystery / Social Issues)

Have you ever heard of a puppy mill? It's a place where people breed unhealthy animals and then sell their pups just for the money. I know bad right? Well, in this book a girl named Maggie lives with her grandmother because when she was young her parents died. Her grandmother owns a vet clinic that is attached to their house so it is very easy for her to get to work if there is an emergency. Maggie helps out a lot in the clinic but since she has been spending so much time in there. She has not been doing her homework or studying for tests so her grandma banned her from the clinic until her grades come up. While Maggie is banned from the clinic, Maggie’s grandma needs help in the clinic. Luckily, a girl in Maggie’s class just signed up for volunteer work. Will they find the puppy mill?

I found this book because it is by my most favorite author. I looked where all the other books by her were and there it was. I recommend this book to everyone. No matter if they like or dislike animals because it talks about a lot more then that. It also is as if you are a character in the book. I was so into the book that when the bell rang I fell out of my chair because I was so into it. If you like this book than you will like other books by her as well.
